Girls who like to go out for drinks, come here
Sumigushiyaki Teradaya (Fukuroi izakaya)
I can see the inside of the store through the gap in its shoji doors. And then I tell myself "It's crowded today. There is nobody I know. Oh, that must be that guy from my town." The young taisho (owner) is in his early thirties. His tavern is filled with young people on Fridays. I think it's great that there are places like this where the locals can get together. It means the future of this city is bright. People in Fukuroi are energetic today too. The want ad says, "Anyone who is full of energy." That is right! If you are in good spirits, you can do anything. In the kitchen where the taisho stands, there is yakitori (chicken skewers) lined up and grilled over charcoal fire. There is also a delicious looking pot of oden (a type of Japanese hot pot). Japanese style aprons typically used at Japanese sake breweries and tenugui (traditional hand towels) are displayed on the wall. Couples and small groups are drinking and eating a lot. The tavern is bustling with people hanging out there. Even the buzz makes me feel comfortable. It is casual. Almost everything you order there is delicious. It is precious. Maybe it is because of the lighting or the lively atmosphere, but the girls hanging out in Fukuroi look pretty.
There are counter seats and Japanese-style seats (tatami mats). The yakitori that you can eat right in front of the kitchen is exceptional.
