Crying out for love and peace in front of Fukuroi Station

Roppu (Fukuroi, ramen, roppu)

I was looking at the Japanese lanterns hung in the store front of Roppu when two people called out to me from inside and asked me to come in. One was the president and the other was the executive director of the same company. They are good friends. They said that they were there to make reaffirm their "love". (Don't get me wrong. They're both married men with families.) They told me they grew up together. "Our houses aren't even 50 meters apart ." "I guess we had a big argument once before, but that's it." "It is good to have close friends in the same office." Just looking at these two, I totally agree. I am kind of - no, I am very - jealous of their friendship. They were telling each other things like"The work environment is all about people, right?" or "Connections between people are important, right?" We ended up crying out, "The world will be at peace if we just cherish our own families." Roppu's menu features tsukemen (dipping noodles), ramen, gyoza (pan-fried dumplings), horumon (tripe), omoro (pig's feet), beer, hiball (whisky and soda), and oolong tea. Its salt tsukemen is served with beautiful, clear broth. People say it tastes best after having a few drinks. There is love, tsukemen, and fried rice to be found here. Everything is so great! Fukuroi is at peace.

I came here for the last stop of the night but this place makes me want to order some more beer. No, maybe I want some hiball.

The taste of joy is the taste of this city
"Girls who like to go out for drinks, come here"
Raise the red noren with one hand
Fukuroi laughs cheerfully again tonight
Who doesn’t want to have a seat at the counter?
A cafe that exists in everybody's imagination
"A shack, a Tosa dog, and me"
The place where everybody's wishes come true
The left door in the very back
Try their agedashi-dofu in the counter seat
The place where Mr. Hirade has let the cat out of the bag
The night to meet your real self
Classmates are such a great thing
Worrisome problems of the world of menus
The night that I was invited to a hostess bar
And we are back to square one
Where kids pretend to be adults
The ordinary is most precious
